It’s time to put up the Christmas tree, hang the tinsel, make the gingerbread cookies and place the dog in front of the fireplace for that picture perfect scene. And what better way to relax into the Christmas period with a good old traditional Christmas movie?! Stick the slippers on, fetch the blanket and relax with the family. Here is a list of some great Christmas movies… (psst! Some of these will be coming soon to Swapit for you guys to bid on in the lead up to Christmas)!
The iconic Christmas comedy about a boy who gets left behind by his family for a tropical holiday. Fun was to be had with sledging, late nights and ice cream galore! All this fun was short lived until two robbers drop in to burgle the house! This Christmas hit is still enjoyed by many families to today!
This animated film is about the friendship between a boy and a snowman. A film packed with adventure that really does hit us right in the feels! It may only be a half-hour film, but boy does it deliver!
The Nightmare Before Christmas
This movie is perfect for not only one holiday, but two! This combination of both Halloween and Christmas antics revolves around Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween who stumbles across Christmas town and voluntarily takes on the job of becoming “Sandy Claws”.
The Muppet Christmas Carol
Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and all the hilarious Muppets feature in this merry, magical version of Charles Dickens’ classic tale.
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
Disaster-prone dad (Chevy Chase) discovers just how dangerous the Christmas season really is as the Griswolds’ old-fashioned holiday celebration turns out to be more “Bah! Humbug!” than Christmas cheer.
Old Santa may get all the glory at Christmas time, but a tribute must be made to all those overworked and underpaid elves out there. Buddy is a slightly tall elf who was raised in the North Pole when he arrived on Santa’s front door as a baby. Unable to fit in with the smaller elves, Buddy travels to New York to find his real parents.
To achieve maximum Christmas comfort while watching these movies, we thoroughly recommend plenty of snacks, tea, hot chocolate and of course… ice-cream! Keep an eye out for these feel-good Christmas movies (and more), coming to Swapit very soon!
